EcoWatch is an innovative IoT-based solution designed to monitor key environmental indicators in real time using smart sensors, edge computing, and AI-powered analytics. The initial pilot will be deployed in selected regions of Cyprus, with scalable potential across the Mediterranean.
Why It Matters
The world is facing escalating climate challenges: water scarcity in agriculture and urban systems, air pollution in industrial and urban zones, and wildfire risks in rural and forested areas. Current monitoring methods are siloed, costly, and too slow to support early intervention. EcoWatch responds to the urgent need for real-time, low-cost, and scalable environmental monitoring tools.
Project Goals
- Smart Monitoring — Track water consumption and leakages, assess water quality in reservoirs and pipelines, detect air pollution across key zones, and identify early signs of wildfire risks (gas, heat, humidity).
- Pilot Deployment — Launch in up to 2 regions (forest and municipal settings) with a full data pipeline: sensor to gateway to cloud dashboard to alerts.
- Collaboration & Validation — Engage local stakeholders for feedback and system co-design, then validate performance and sustainability impact.
