The Industrial Radio Remote System (IRRS) is a software-defined radio platform purpose-built for industrial remote control. It provides a certifiable, hardware-portable foundation for safety-critical wireless applications, from construction equipment and cranes to industrial machinery and material handling.
Unlike traditional fixed-function radio systems, IRRS implements the entire radio control chain in software: operator input processing, protocol framing, RF modulation logic, link health monitoring, and fail-safe state management. This software-defined approach allows the same product to target different hardware platforms (MCU, SoC, radio module) with minimal rework, while maintaining deterministic real-time performance.
The architecture separates real-time control from management tasks across two execution contexts, and its six subsystems (operator interface, control processing, communication, HMI, storage, battery monitoring) are designed for DO-178C compliance from the ground up.
